I've attended many orientations over my career - this was, by far, the best. I feel so welcomed and the connections to others have gotten me off to a good start. - 2011
The Office for Teaching and Learning is here to support all members of the Wayne State University teaching and learning community. To help you get started, we offer one to one consultations tailored to meet your needs. Be it course design, syllabus construction, teaching strategies, or using instructional technologies, our team of experienced faculty development consultants offer practical insight and information that will benefit your students’ learning experiences.
Once you arrive on campus, there are many ways the OTL can benefit you. We offer opportunities like pedagogy and instructional technology workshops, course design groups, faculty learning communities, Mid-semester Assessment Program (MAP), and our Scholarly Writing Series. All of our services are confidential and designed to assist WSU faculty in being exceptional teachers.
We invite you to take advantage of the OTL services even before you arrive on campus. We’re available to meet in person, via phone, or virtually using Skype or Blackboard Collaborate. Call 313-577-0001 or email OTL@wayne.edu to schedule an appointment. You can also drop in Monday through Friday from 9am until 5pm. We are located inside the Purdy/Kresge Library in the Teaching Commons. Please visit otl.wayne.edu for more information. We look forward to seeing you soon!
